Who we are
We’re the Government’s advisor for the natural environment in England.
We work on a wide range of projects, from promoting nature conservation and protecting biodiversity to encouraging open-air recreation and providing access to environmental study facilities.
We support the Government’s 25-year environment plan, which sets out goals for leaving the environment in a better state within a generation.
We aim for
- a well-managed Nature Recovery Network across land, water and sea;
- nature-based solutions contributing fully to tackling environmental threats;
- improvements in the natural capital to drive sustainable economic growth;
- partnerships to help nature’s recovery.
